What is childhood emotional abuse and neglect?

Parents do have a responsibility in taking care of their children, not only physically, but also emotionally, and to have the childrens needs met within a safe space and within certain boundaries. Childhood emotional neglect has all to do with not respecting and not caring for the emotional needs of the child. Childhood emotional abuse has all to do with exploiting the child for the emotional and other needs of the parents instead. When a child is emotionally abused, it is emotionally neglected as well.
